Tenkobushi Temple Martial Arts-The Valley's Only School of Authentic Japanese Ninjutsu
CHILDREN'SPROGRAM

Children's Class: 8 - 15 years old. Includins anti-abduction techniques and to a degree, the Adult Class curriculum. At age 15 your child can transfer to the Adult Ninjitsu Course and receive the more advanced training. We strive to instill those positive qualities and traits exhibited by the True Warrior. The traits of Confidence, Composure, Self Discipline, Respect, Citizenship, Honor, Courage and Commitment.

Weapons Training: The school teaches several classical weapons, such as nunchaku, sai, bo, tonfa and swordsmanship, but also many improvised and Family Specific weapons. We teach the rare art of Tengu Kenjutsu (double spinning swords) a trademark particular to the Saito Clan and found nowhere else in the world. Certainly these arts are offered only to those who have demonstrated the physical and emotional maturity to respond to the discipline of training. The decision to teach weapons to children under 18 years of age will be a joint one among the Chief Instructor and parents.

Additionally we do not "Spar" nor do we include Tournament Fighting as part of our curriculum and grading process. The traditional drills and exercises within this art make it unnecessary for to perform "sparring drills". "Sparring", as it is done in franchised "martial arts" schools, is counter productive and not realistic in our view. It promotes aggression and/or "cocky" attitudes and does not reinforce the proper breathing, body movement or composure important to this art and self-defense. This is one of the many reasons there is No Sparring or Tournament Play in this school.

Curriculum:
Ground work: (Atemi) Brake falls, rolling, flipping, ground techniques, suwari waza.

Empty hand arts: (Tai Jutsu / Ukemi): punching, kicking, takedowns, locks, immobilization and includes Jujutsu and Aikijutsu principles (as a beginning foundation), and the specialized arts of Shinkeido and Fushido, Koppo and others.

Traditional Dances: There are several Traditional Dances or kata, which are exclusive to Saito Ninjitsu. These rare and totally functional dances have many levels which begin as physical practice forms and at advanced levels become the keys to the higher levels of the true warrior spirit.
